About me

Matthew Crabtree PMHNP

I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN). I have been a member of the medical community in Portland since 2013, practicing as a PMHNP since 2019.  Since completing my training at Vanderbilt School of Nursing in the MSN program, I have provided outpatient behavioral health care at urgent care mental health clinics, managed medical assisted treatment for patients struggling with substance use disorders, and participated in medical management and crisis stabilization for patients experiencing mental health crisis in emergency department settings. As clinician I believe strongly that interdisciplinary collaboration and holistic therapeutic interventions are the foundation of a patient focused approach to addressing the behavioral health concerns of the patient.

I hope to create an environment that fosters respectful, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationships where evidence based treatment plans can be created to increase patients quality of life and optimize psycho-social functioning. Generally, treatment plans include both medication management and therapy.

My practice is open to individuals from 18-64 years of age. I treat patients with a multitude of presentations, however I specialize in mood disorders (depression and anxiety), men’s mental health, and substance use disorders.
